After exercising due diligence, the board or committee shall determine whether the organization can obtain within reasonable efforts, a more advantageous transaction or arrangement from a person or entity that would not give rise to a conflict of interest. If it is not reasonably possible, then the board or committee shall vote on the transaction or arrangement in the organization's best interest.”

“Global oncology's mission is to bring the best in cancer care to underserved patients around the world. The global oncology 2016-2019 strategic framework will guide our strategic goals and specific objectives towards sustainable and scalable actions in the global fight against cancer. Initally we are focusing our efforts, resources and collaboration on selected high-need regions where we can partner effectively with local care delivery teams. We will broadly share best practices and tools developed through global oncology's efforts to maximize impact. With additional support and partnerships, we plan to expand the application of our scalable solutions to additional geographic areas.”

“Volunteers perform a variety of functions in support of the organization's mission from helping to build global oncology's infrastructure, to leading and participating in projects, to promoting awareness of the global cancer crisis. Volunteers are at all levels of profession and include: physicians, scientists, designers, engineers, public health experts, policymakers, nurses, lawyers and students. The board of directors are also volunteers, who oversee the organization and ensure fiscal responsibility.”
