THE ULTIMATE PURPOSE OF THESE ORIENTATIONS IS FOR PATIENTS TO UNDERSTAND WHAT HBOT IS, HOW IT WORKS, AND THE SAFETY GUIDELINES OF OUR FACILITY.WE TOURED THE HYPERBARIC FACILITY AT MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN JANUARY 2016. THIS TOUR ENABLED US TO FURTHER RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER HYPERBARIC TECHNICIANS IN YAKIMA, WHILE PROMOTING A CROSS REFERRAL CULTURE.FEBRUARY 2016, WE SERVED AS THE ON-CALL FACILITY FOR CASCADE DIVE COMPANY. IN THE EVENT OF A DIVING MISHAP WITH ONE OF THEIR EMPLOYEES, THEY WOULD COME TO HCW FOR TREATMENT. IN APRIL 2016, WE PARTICIPATED IN BIZCON, A FREE EVENT FOR THE PUBLIC THROUGH THE GREATER YAKIMA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. BIZCON IS A PLATFORM FOR EDUCATING THE PUBLIC ABOUT SERVICES YOU PROVIDE. IN AUGUST 2016 WE HOSTED A HYPERBARIC TRAINING COURSE WHICH INCLUDED TRAINING FOR YAKIMA TECHNICIANS AS WELL AS TECHNICIANS FROM 3 OTHER HYPERBARIC FACILITIES.

THE MEDICAL DIRECTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING ALL PATIENTS WHO HAVE TREATMENT AT OUR FACILITY ARE CANDIDATES FOR THE PRESSURIZED ENVIRONMENT. THE MEDICAL DIRECTOR ALSO MAINTAINS CONTACT WITH ALL HCW STAFF IN REGARDS TO FURTHER PATIENT CARE, AS NEEDED, CONTINUING EDUCATION, AND SAFETY. THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR HUMAN RESOURCES, A/R AND A/P, PAYROLL AND TAXES, COMMUNICATIONS WITH THE BOARD, ADVERTISING, DAY-TO-DAY OPERATIONS, AND WORKING WITH PATIENTS, INCLUDING PATIENT ORIENTATIONS. IN WORKING WITH PATIENTS, THE ED WORKS FROM THE START TO EDUCATE THEM REGARDING THEIR TREATMENT, SECURE FINANCIAL AID IF NECESSARY, ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITH HCW RULES AND REGULATIONS, AND OVERSEE SCHEDULING OF TREATMENTS. THE ED WORKS TO PROMOTE PROFESSIONAL RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER PROVIDERS AND FOUNDATIONS. THE ED IS RESPONSIBLE FOR REPORTING TO THE MEDICAL DIRECTOR AND THE BOARD. THE SAFETY DIRECTOR (SD) IS THE THIRD PRONG. THE SD IS RESPONSIBLE FOR OVERSEEING PATIENT, STAFF, AND FACILITY SAFETY. COMPLIANCE WITH ALL GOVERNMENT SAFETY REGULATIONS AND CHAMBER MANUFACTURER SPECIFICATIONS MUST BE MAINTAINED. THE SD ALSO OVERSEES STAFFING AND EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE. THE SD REPORTS TO THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR.
IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc0FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: PART OF OUR MISSION AS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION IS TO SEE THAT PATIENTS WHO COULD BENEFIT FROM HYPERBARIC OXYGEN THERAPY (HBOT) HAVE ACCESS TO IT. TO HELP PATIENTS WHO CANNOT AFFORD FULL RATES OF HBOT, WE OFFER A SLIDING FEE SCALE BASED ON THE FEDERAL POVERTY GUIDELINES. OF THE 39 PATIENTS WE SERVED, 8% OF THOSE RECEIVED SOME LEVEL OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. IN DECEMBER 2016, THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR BEGAN CONVERSATION WITH THE ONE HIT AWAY FOUNDATION. THIS RELATIONSHIP IS ONGOING AND THERE IS POTENTIAL FOR PARTNERSHIP IN 2017.
