“Note 1: come clean is a nonprofit organization focused on stopping the cycle of violence in the community by offering anger management, domestic violence, behavioral therapy and parenting classes while selling cleaning supplies as a method of sustainment. Come cleans motto when life gets a little dirty you have to come clean has a symbolic and literal meaning.come clean is a georgia state certified family violence intervention program (fvip). As a value added service to our community, come clean offers classes weekly and during the weekends. We also discount our class pricing to ensure support/rehabilitation is affordable for everyone who needs such services. Come clean is also focused on the teens - come clean is passionate about creating awareness and helping teens effectively respond to challenges that they are faced with daily. In fact, 1 in 3 georgia teens have experienced dating violence. According to the cdc (center for disease control), violent behavior typically begins between the ages of 12 and 18. Moreover, georgia is ranked one of the highest states in teen dating violence. Hence, the reason we implemented the program tradethemforstem. The goal of this program is to tackle real teenage issues which is what we refer to as the them (them=anger, hate, bullying & violence). The objective is to remove issues and distractions while redirecting the teens interest toward a future in stem (science, technology, engineering & math). Because of the tremendous need in georgia, our goal is to offer this program several times during the year. Note 2: come clean has been a family violence intervention program since november 2013 and has approximately 20 clients/participants. We have a 100% success rate in that none of our participants were in any other trouble once graduating from our program. Come clean, through the various programs, is proud to be one of the support programs in the community dedicated towards lowering recidivism. Note 3 - to over 50 participants in 2015. All domestic violence participants participated in a 24 week mrt (moral reconation therapy ) which is a systematic treatment strategy that seeks to decrease recidivism by increasing moral reasoning.note 4 - to host the 2nd annual tradethemforstem event. Approximately 200 students participated in this stem event focused on educating, informing and preparing teens for a future in stem (science technology engineering math) by tackling real issues teens face; removing distractions & demystifying stereotypes on what stem means. However, trade them for stem is also an anti-violence campaign, communicating the importance of education versus the negative attention towards bullying, violence and hate (the them). According to the center for disease control (cdc), georgia is ranked one the highest in teen dating violence.note 5 - approximately 150 teens attended this stem/anti-violence campaign for girls age 12 -18. Per the us dept. Of labor, 9 out of 10 of the fastest growing careers requires significant math and science training. Only 16% of american high school girl seniors are proficient in math and interested in a stem career. Additional statistics reveal that girls differ in their interest and confidence in stem. This event helped girls understand and recognize their skills in science and math lead to exciting careers as well as promoted healthy and safe relationships.”
