“2013 the strategic deterrent coalition was created in 2013. Incorporated in new mexico, its charter, by-laws and mission statement adopted. Approval was received in 2014 as a 501(c)3 public charity. 2014 a business plan was adopted that led to the planning and execution of a national symposium held on may 4-6, 2015 on the campus of the university of central missouri, warrensburg, mo. It featured speakers representing senior military and civilian government leadership as well as academic experts from across the country. Additionally, the strategic deterrent coalition has assembled a group of deterrent strategy experts to serve as a board of regents. This group has no governance responsibilities for the organization, but will exchange ideas and perspectives on the subject matter of strategic deterrence. They plan to participate in the national dialogue on strategic deterrence through study, reports, speeches and essays. 2015 sdc is now in the process of a nation-wide effort to secure the financial resources to continue and expand its work. Another major national symposium will be held on june 20,21 of 2016 in albuquerque, new mexico. The symposium will feature speakers from across the country, some of whom have divergent opinions of the future of strategic deterence. It will also feature international representation on the program. The credibility of the organization has increased to the point that it has already become a national resource of information and perspective about our national security.”
