Program Services

DescriptionGrantsExpenses
Whether chronically homeless, recently homeless, or struggling financially, many families living in the city of New York find themselves in transition and could use help to meet their most immediate needs. Some of these needs are clothes. Through clothing drives, Hope for Us Inc. has been able to provide over 650 pieces of clothes so far to individuals living as homeless. Those who have benefited from the clothing drives conducted periodically by Hope for Us Inc. throughout the year are men, women, and children of all ages. These drives has helped Hope for Us Inc. fulfill its mission of providing necessities to the homeless while alleviating the financial constraint that they face.$0$1,900
Toy Giveaways were conducted during the winter holiday season for children living in homeless shelters throughout Bronx, NY. Many of these children will not receive anything during the winter holiday season due to financial difficulties. Hope for Us Inc. was able to follow through with its mission of enhancing the life of the youth and making the holidays festive by providing over 300 toys to children between the ages of two and seventeen. Hope for Us Inc. providing toys also helped to alleviate the financial constraint of many parents. Hope for Us Inc. was able to provide each child with a brand new toy. For the year 2013, Hope for Us Inc. was able to distribute over 300 toys to children living in two homeless shelters in the Bronx. These shelters were Help Morris Homeless Shelter and Siena House.-$1,600
Hope for Us Inc. provides to those with Sickle Cell Anemia. Hope for Us Inc. was able to hold an event at Mount Sinai Hospital where those with Sickle Cell Anemia were told about what Hope for Us Inc. provides for them. Due to health complications caused by sickle cell anemia, one may not be able to participate in competitive sports. This inability to participate in competitive sports affects those with sickle cell anemia. Hope for Us Inc. helps fund non-sports related activities that someone with sickle cell anemia may be interested in. These extracurricular programs may span from art to music lessons. Recreational activities such as music lessons have proven to boost self esteem while enhancing learning ability. That proves how those who are not able to participate in athletic activities may still reap all of the benefits that those who participate in athletic activities reap.$0$525
