“Media coverage on climate issues -accurate media coverage is the link between climate science, public awareness, and collective action, making it an indispensable tool in building public support for a clean energy economy for all. While climate coverage has increased in recent years, there are still opportunities for improvement: lack of in-depth reporting, underrepresentation of overlooked communities, and inconsistencies are some of the challenges that continue to limit the public understanding of the climate crisis and the public support to phase out fossil fuels altogether. Our campaign, 100 latinos most committed to climate change elevated the voices of latinos in the climate movement. Huella zero, the first latino digital platform, built on the digitally active nature of latino media consumption to increase climate coverage and encourage action among latino audiences nationally. -build public support for climate action & solutions. -we brought new activists to our climate innovation hub, a capacity- building platform - with accredited curriculums, advocacy resources, and self-development tools - that builds climate resilience in frontline communities. For example, our battle-tested "fundamentals of climate leadership" program, certified by florida international university, that has trained and engaged 2000+ community leaders in climate solutions. Such as equitable representation in public spaces, where over 70 members from little havana were brought to oleta state river park to enjoy nature, share experiences, and learn about the ecological significance of the bay. -encourage climate action through communications & storytelling. -creating multiplatform communications that inform local communities on the impacts and solutions of our climate crisis. Bringing their stories and voices to the forefront of latinx conversations.”
