Mission

Seed sower inc. Works together with businesses and individuals to address, and ultimately overcome, substance use disorder,poverty, homelessness, and unemployment - each meeting the needof the other to harvest hope in a troubled world.

To serve the public as an innovative driver of social and entrepreneurial change in appalachia and beyond by addressing head-on the need for substance use disorder treatment services, and meeting educational, training, transportation, personal, and practical needs of those suffering from substance use disorder, addictive behaviors, homelessness, at-risk youth, unemployment or underemployment.

On august xx, 2022 a draft copy of the form 990 was provided by email to all board members. Along with this, contact information for mark collins, cpa the preparer was provided. Further, a resource "board review checklist for form 990" was provided (attached) as well as brief instructions on its use. This checklist is a resource provided by the preparer's tax research service,thomson reuters/practioners publishing company. It was asked that any questions be directed to mr. Collins by email or mobile no. Call. Further a telephonice board meeting was held with board members, the executive director and mr. Collins on august xx, 2022 to afford board members an opportunity to ask mr. Collins questions about its prperation.

Duty to disclose: in connection with any actual or possible conflict of interest, an interested person must disclose the existence of the financial interest and be given the opportunity to disclose all material facts to the directors and members of committees with governing board delegated powers considering the proposed transaction or arrangement. Determining whether a conflict of interest exists after disclosure of the financial interest and all material facts, and after any discussion with the interested person, he/she shall leave the governing board or committee meeting while the determination of a conflict of interest is discussed and voted upon. The remaining board or committee members shall decide if a conflict of interest exists. If the governing board or committee has reasonable cause to believe a member has failed to disclose actual or possible conflicts of interest, it shall inform the member of the basis for such belief and afford the member an opportunity to explain the alleged failure to disclose. If, after hearing the member's response and after making further investigation as warranted by the circumstances, the governing board or committee determines the member has failed to disclose an actual or possible conflict of interest, it shall take appropriate disciplinary and corrective action

There are two general groups of volunteers utilized by the organization as follows: - the board of directors who provide governance and oversight to the organization. - other volunteers were utilized in general ground improvements, repairs and maintenance of the various facilites of the organzation.

Financial Statement Notes

Schedule D, Page 3, Part X

The reviewed financial statements as of and for the year ended december 31, 2021 contain the following footnote disclosure: accounting for uncertain tax positions: generally accepted accounting principles (gaap) provide detailed guidance for the financial statement recognition, measurement and disclosures of uncertain tax positions recognized in an enterprise's financial statements. Gaap requires and entity to recognize the financial statement impact of a tax position when it is more likely than not that the position will be sustained upon examination. The organization believes that all significant tax positions utilized by the organization will more likely than not be sustained upon examination. As of december 31, 2021, the tax years that remain subject to examination by the major tax jurisdictions under the statute of limitations are from the 2020 calendar year forward (with limited exceptions and given that the organization began financial operations in 2020). Tax penalties and interest, if any, would be accrued as incurred and would be classified as expense in the statement of activities.
