“Other program services 4: hope heals prayer - inspired by the digital prayer network set up following the founder's stroke, this project will create a digital prayer network for people who desire to pray as well as those who desire to be prayed for. Requests are compiled through the organization's website and distributed via email and social media. Other program services 5: hope heals camp - a healing community offering rest, resources, and relationships to individuals and families affected by disability. The camp is open to any aged person with any type of disability from any where. Campers are assigned volunteer companions for the week and the community is fostered through camp experiences (games and physical activities for all abilities, talent show, arts & crafts, music) as well as spiritual and therapeutic resourcing (worship, biblical teaching, small groups, personal reflections, marriage & family therapy, and group therapy sessions). The intention is for this community to continue after the in-person camp experience. This will be facilitated digitally and physically through private facebook groups, social media, email correspondence, paper mailings, and a reunion-type gathering. Other program services 6: hope heals book - the memoir of the organization's founder written to encourage and inspire those facing similar medical struggles as well as all searching for god in the midst of their pain. The book is distributed nationwide through all major book sellers. Free copies of the book have been donated by the organization to partner organizations to specifically distribute to individuals and families dealing with stroke, brain injury, or disability. Other program services 7: hope heals box - mailed care packages sent to people in acute medical situations. The boxes include encouraging and practical items curated by the founder of hope heals, katherine, who was also the recipient of many kind gifts during her long hospital stays. Recipients are nominated by their loved ones. Boxes are sponsored by donors.”
