Our office's goal is to mitigate the impact of increased tourism by educating both visitors and residents on how to treat Big Sky with respect as well as continue to inspire future travel to Big Sky for your next ski vacation. Visit Big Sky has excelled in gathering data that has led to key insights, such as recognizing the direct link between our housing challenges and the prevalence of short-term rentals in the area. The team is committed to using data-driven approaches to address the various challenges that tourism presents to the community. Our marketing efforts have focused on bringing back previous visitors to Big Sky. This strategy not only offers cost savings by targeting an existing customer base, but also concentrates on key source markets for our visitors. In 2023, we targeted Dallas, New York, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Seattle. Additionally, our proximity to Yellowstone National Park was a major highlight, emphasizing that Big Sky is just an hour's scenic drive north of the parks west entrance. Our messaging encouraged visitors to stay in Big Sky while enjoying the parks natural beauty.
