Ledyard C.H.A.I.N. is a community based group whose purpose is to offer support to the Ledyard Animal Control to offer education that will enrich the lives of pets and their owners and to support efforts and initiatives that will benefit the welfare and safety of companion animals in our community. We have four major programs that uphold our mission. 1. Pet Food Assistance Program: Supplies food to our local shelter food pantries senior center and those in need in our community. 2. Fixed 4 Life: This program spays neuters and vaccinates all pets at the Ledyard Animal Control and we also assist with spays and neuters for residents in need in our community. 3. The Oliver Project: Spays neuters and vaccinates stray and feral cats within the Ledyard and Gales Ferry community. 4. Medical Assistance Program: Assists the Ledyard Animal Control to meet any of the medical needs of pets that enter the shelter.
