Artesian school's mission is to provide the educational foundation for students to earn college degrees or industry certifications in career fields of their choice.

School and students begin taking college courses as early as 9th grade, the organization also paid tuition for these courses to the college. Lastly, the organization purchased materials for, and engaged in, marketing and community outreach in order to recruit students and teachers to the school. These investments in the school's personnel and instructional resources allowed artesian to end its fiscal year with a school that showed higher and faster student growth than the average across the state of tennessee. Ninety students finished a year of high school with 2 college courses complete.

The prior period adjustment of 98,774 is comprised of the following: 1. (1,560) decrease in net assets to reconcile the beginning balance from the previous fiscal year ended june 30, 2017. 2. 95,000 reduction of revenue for a grant that was recorded in the fiscal year ended june 30, 2017. 3. (15,817) decrease in wages to adjust for accrued payroll from the fiscal year ended june 30, 2017. 4. 21,151 increase in other charges to adjust for prior year error of prepaid insurance allocation.

Schedule D, Page 3, Part X

The school has been determined to be exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code (irc) as evidenced by a letter of determination dated july 1, 2012. As an exempt corporation, the school must operate in conformity with the irs in order maintain its tax- exempt status. The school is also exempt from state income tax. As of june 30, 2018, all tax years prior to june 30, 2015 remain open due to the applicable tax authority's ability to review and assess previously issued returns. Management is unaware of any tax positions that would not be more likely than not to be upheld upon examination by taxing authorities; accordingly, no provision for tax positions was deemed necessary at june 30, 2018.

AS THE SCHOOL IS AN EARLY COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL AND STUDENTS BEGIN TAKING COLLEGE COURSES AS EARLY AS 9TH GRADE, THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PAID TUITION FOR THESE COURSES TO THE COLLEGE. AS AN EXEMPT CORPORATION, THE SCHOOL MUST OPERATE IN CONFORMITY WITH THE IRS IN ORDER MAINTAIN ITS TAX- EXEMPT STATUS. THE SCHOOL IS ALSO EXEMPT FROM STATE INCOME TAX. AS OF JUNE 30, 2018, ALL TAX YEARS PRIOR TO JUNE 30, 2015 REMAIN OPEN DUE TO THE APPLICABLE TAX AUTHORITY'S ABILITY TO REVIEW AND ASSESS PREVIOUSLY ISSUED RETURNS.
