| Mission: To develop the leadership skills of Willamette Valley youth through educational programs and opportunities.Leadership Salem & Salem Young Pros programs transferred to the Salem Area Chamber of CommerceLeadership Youth Remain on hold and will resume Fall 2023Career Connections-Previous years we have helped over 1,000 Salem-Keizer and surrounding area high school students (some 10th grade, but primarily 11th & 12th graders) practice their mock interview skills at Career Connections. Over 300 business volunteers shared their time and experience by providing each student with 3- mock interviews while helping them gain confidence, provide them positive resume critique and improve their professional skills. In addition to the mock interviews we had 30+ vendors who were there to share with students about local volunteer opportunities, summer internships, and employment opportunities (actual interviews for hiring).*2022- Instead of one large event, we scheduled mock interviews at each of the 7 High schools. CTE & Industry Summit- On hold and hope to resume in 2023Our 2020 event expanded to a multi-state invite and brought over 600 attendees to Salem, Oregon to participate in the 2- day event. In 2020 the summit was the last event held at our local Convention Center before the state went into a shelter in place order. For 2021 we have moved the event to a multi-day virtual platform for 2021. This will allow students, educators and industry representing CTE to be able to eliminate possible travel costs, missing any school time, and remove hard costs for our Foundation. The feedback from sponsors, school districts, and industry has been overwhelmingly positive. This change while unexpected is looking like it will open the door to much more opportunity and participation!CTE Professional of the Month(POM)-Our programming has expanded, especially in the area of supporting career technical education (CTE). In partnership with Salem-Keizer Public Schools, the Inspire Foundation began recognizing students as CTE Professionals of the Month for their outstanding professionalism and dedication to their program of study. There are currently 54 CTE Programs in the SK school district. Through investing in the current and future workforce, we hope to contribute to a stronger community for years to come. High school students who are recognized get to select an experience from the list below: *Help setting up a visit to a community college, university, or a technical/trade school*Support coaching with interviewing/resume refreshing *Introduction to a community leader.*Schedule a worksite tour with a local employer*Assistance with scholarship search and application process*Connecting to a work place experienceCTE Professional of the Year- New this year, we recognize 7 students as Professional of the year. One from each High school. Spring Hiring & resource fair- We are having a hiring & resource fair for all SKSD students and parents. There are 25 confirmed vendors with offerings of employment, volunteer, and internship opportunities. Salem Area College & Career Fair This was an in person event held at CCC. Connecting 600 students, parents with 40 vendors to higher education/workforce/trade schools from across Oregon. AVID Professional of the Month (September-May) - New to our programs and modeled after our CTE POM, we launched AVID Professional of the Month for both Middle and High School students. Thanks to a partnership with OCSP and Maps Credit Union we are able to provide Middle school recipients with $125.00 in an Oregon College Savings Plan account. High school recipients get to choose from the same list of offerings as the CTE POMs. | $95,445 | - |
