Mission and Program Overview

Mission

The mission of the co-op school is to inspire passion and teach children to become protagonists in their own educational journey by fostering their innate sense of curiosity and creativity. The co-op school facilitates joyful learning through a unique and rigorous constructivist approach that listens to and honors the individual interests and strengths of each child. Financial Statement Notes

Part X : FIN48 Footnote

The Organization accounts for income taxes in accordance with income tax accounting guidance in Financial Accounting Standards Board Accounting Standard Codification (ASC) 740, Income Taxes. The guidance for accounting standards for uncertainty in income taxes, which addresses the determination of whether tax benefits claimed or expected to be claimed on tax return should be recorded in the financial statements. Under this guidance, the Organization may recognize the tax benefit from an uncertain tax position only if it is more than likely than not that the tax position will be sustained on examination by taxing authorities, based on the technical merits of the position. Examples of tax positions include the tax-exempt status of the Organization and various positions related to the potential sources of unrelated business taxable income (UBIT). The tax benefits recognized in the financial statements from such a position are measured based on the largest benefit that has a greater than 50 percent likelihood of being realized upon ultimate settlement. There are no unrecognized tax benefits identified or recorded as liabilities for fiscal year ended August 31, 2022.

WE TEACH READING, WRITING, MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCE THROUGH VARIOUS CURRICULA. WE CULTIVATE READERS THROUGH A BALANCED LITERACY APPROACH AND MATHEMATICIANS THROUGH REAL WORLD PROJECT-BASED LEARNING THAT ENCOURAGES REASONING AND PROBLEM SOLVING DEVELOPMENT.MIDDLE SCHOOL:Our Middle Schoolers receive the same supportive, joyful, inquiry-based approach taken in our preschool and lower school programs. At the same time, Middle School students are ready for additional academic rigor, and our program recognizes and supports that milestone. During this exciting time of rapid growth, students find their voices as empathetic and active citizens of the world. In addition to a curriculum that promotes student-based learning, teachers also emphasize social-emotional skills, independence, and learning how to learn. Our graduates advocate for themselves and others, question the world around them, and collaborate with a diverse range of people. These essential tools continue to serve them in the years to come as they become global citizens in an interdependent world.

IRS990ScheduleD/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0The Organization accounts for income taxes in accordance with income tax accounting guidance in Financial Accounting Standards Board Accounting Standard Codification (ASC) 740, Income Taxes.
