FORM 990 - ORGANIZATION'S MISSION

To serve as an ecomomic engine for central delaware by providing a first- class sports destination venue that attracts sports tourism to the area, as well as services our local community needs for youth to play, learn, compete and grow.

Form 990

Kent county regional sports complex corporation (operating as de turf) hosted their first event in april of 2017. Each year a balanced budget is reviewed and approved by the board of directors and a cash flow projection is maintained. Some items are included in the 990 that did not have an effect on the cash flow projection for the years ended december 31, 2019 and 2018. One item included in de turf's 990 at december 31, 2019 and 2018, is depreciation expense of 980,385 and 969,923, respectively. As presented in part iv line 22, this is a non-cash expense and therefore has no effect on the organization's cash flow. The second item that did not affect cash flow was interest expense of 413,991 and 827,982 for the years ended december 31, 2019 and 2018, respectively. As part of the loan from the proceeds of the series 2016 bonds issued by kent county, delaware, m&t bank set up a capitalized interest waterfall account to pay the interest due on the loan through april 1, 2019. The total of the depreciation and interest expense listed above was 1,394,376 and 1,797,905 for the years ended december 31, 2019 and 2018, respectively, and these expenses are included in the change in net assets on the part xi. If they were not included in the change in net assets, the organization would show a change in net assets of 532,801 for the year ended december 31, 2019.
