Inspired by Rabindranath Tagores vision for education Kolotan school provides holistic education to students fostering a harmonious blend of academic rigor and artistic expression through music art and dance. Classes are more discussion-based to encourage introspection and incorporate daily life application of mathematics to provide a more well-rounded education. The school currently is run in two rented residential apartments with no space for expansion. Current facilities do not have space for children to play outdoors or have a science laboratory or library. However recently a local gentleman donated land to the school on which Caring Hands will help fund the construction of the new school. The school will expand from teaching children in nursery-class V to nursery-class X. In collaboration with SYS and OAB Caring Hands decided to renovate the residential facilities for OAB students and staff as the facilities had fallen into severe disrepair. This grant is for improving the infrastructure of OAB in Kharavela Nagar Bhubaneswar to make it a safe healthy and vibrant environment for the visually impaired in Odisha to continue with their rehabilitation and vocational training that will help them on their path to self-sustenance., $22260| Friends of Kolkota Elderly 61 Sree Bardhan Palli Bakrahat Road Post Office -Joka P.S.- Thakurpukur Kolkata - 700104: In partnership with Friends of Kolkatas Elderly Caring Hands is assisting in the development of an after school educational program called Happy Classroom to improve basic literacy skills of students using the old age homes as educational centers. The educational program focuses on teaching students to develop their own aptitude and work diligently on filling their learning gaps in order to become self-reliant students. In addition the program also allocates time for social activities such as working in groups caring for senior citizens and arts and crafts that will help them develop important life skills early on., $5050| Bansberia Women and Child Welfare Society Village: Bansberia P.O. Kulpi Diamond Harbor 24 Paraganas West Bengal India: In memory of our beloved co-founder Dr. Sakti Das Caring Hands Foundation is collaborating with Tuhina Chatterjee on behalf of Naba Diganta to create the Dr. Sakti Das Memorial School in North 24 Parganas West Bengal. This project aims to provide free primary education and reduce school dropouts. The school is expected to directly benefit 300 students.during monsoon season cause flooding forcing the school to be suspended frequently. Caring Hands renovated the educational facilities and provided classroom furniture.
