Mission

VCAM's mission is to promote free speech, civic engagement, government transparency and public dialogue by enabling easy access to the expanding world of media.

VCAM operates three public access cable channels and one government access channel as well as providing equipment, facilities, and channel time to any VCAM user for any noncommercial purpose, free of charge.

At no cost, community members are provided with production equipment and limited staff support to produce non-commercial video content of a community interest nature. VCAM remains content neutral, acting as a conduit between the community member and the community itself. Resources include a production studio, two edit suites, equipment available for off site use. Facilities and resources are available to anyone who lives or works in the VCAM service area as determined by contractual obligations with the local cable providers.

In 2016, VCAM added a new community radio program that includes low-power FM radio station operations as part of their media education mission.
