Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 8B

Faith in action fund does not currently have any committees with authority to act on behalf of the governing body.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

The form 990 was prepared by the outside accountants and reviewed by the executive director and a board member prior to filing with the irs.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

Pursuant to faith in action fund's conflict of interest policy, directors and officers are required to report any potential conflict of interest to the president of the board or an applicable committee of the board. Any potential conflict is reviewed by the board or an applicable committee of the board, under the conflict of interest policy. Directors and officers of the organization are required to complete and sign the conflict of interest declaration on an annual basis. The completed declarations are available for inspection by the directors and officers of the organization, and by such other persons as the president may deem appropriate.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15A

Pursuant to a resource sharing agreement with faith in action network, a section 501(c)(3) public charity, the organization reimburses faith in action network for the services performed by the organization's executive director, andrea marta, who is an employee of faith in action network. Ms. Marta's compensation is reviewed and approved by the executive committee of faith in action network using comparability data, performance reviews and work experience.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

FORM 990, PART VII, SECTION A:

The two organizations are not "related organizations" as that term is defined in the form 990 glossary. Therefore, there is no compensation reflected in part vii under compensation from "related organizations". Pursuant to their resource sharing arrangement, the compensation allocated to the action fund for the following individuals listed on part vii of this return is as follows: andrea marta: 40 hours per week; $82,532 compensation; $14,585 benefits.
