The chairman of the board inquired as to potential conflicts of interest among board members. No evidence of conflicts of interest emerged over the past year and therefore there were not any enforcement actions taken.

The board undertook a multi-step process that involved an analysis of comparable salaries for each of the roles under review at other non-profit organizations of a similar size in the washington, dc area. The board assigned a subcommittee to study the comparables, interview the co-executive directors, and review staffing budgets. The subcommittee reported out a recommendation for salaries to the executive directors, which was subsequently approved unanimously. The executive directors whose salaries were under review abstained from the debate and the vote.
