Mission

Rock & rawhide aims to increase adoptions and quality of life for dogs and cats in shelters, by providing distraction therapy and noise/stress reduction through the donations of toys, tough chew items, kongs, nylabones, bones, rawhides, blankets and more.

Major Activities

Activity 2
Tennis ball campaign & stunt: yearly promotion at petco stores to collect tennis balls and cat mylar balls for shelter animals. We collected 10,000 balls and partnered with nyc animal care & control, petco foundation and mayor's alliance for nyc's animals to create a press stunt. The aim was to increased awareness of the shelter, and to increase adoptions. The 3 star dogs who fronted the campaign were adopted, interest in the shelter increased and they saw an increase in visitors and adoptions, and over 50 shelters and rescues received balls for their dogs and cats. Activity 3
Adoptapalooza: nyc's biggest adoption event. We participated by collecting items for shelters and promoting our mission. We promoted the event through our network of radio - z100 elvis duran and the morning show, online, email blasts and more. Over 300 animals were adopted. Increased participation for 2012.
