Supplemental Narrative

Additional Explanations

FORM 990, PART XI, LINE 9:

Change in accounting method 7,602. Change in value of beneficial interest 372.

Form 990, Part XII, Line 1

Feed iowa first has changed their basis of accounting from the previous year. The organization's financial records are now maintained, and the financial statements are presented, on a modified cash basis of accounting under which only revenue collected, expenses paid, assets, liabilties, and net assets arising as a result of cash transactions to or from the acquisition of long-lived assets, capitalizing and depreciating property and equipment, net appreciation or depreciation related to beneficial interest in assets held by community foundation, and recording a liability for payroll taxes withheld. This method differs from accounting principles generally accepted in the united states of america primarily because the effect of prepaid and accrued expenses and various receivables and payables are not included in the financial statements.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The organization is exempt from income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and a similar section of the iowa income tax law, which provides income tax exemption for corporations organized and operated exclusively for religious, charitable, or education purposes. The internal revenue service has not classified the organization as a private foundation. The organization files information returns in the u.s. Federal jurisdiction. The organization follows the standard for evalutationg certain tax positions and has determined that it was not required to record a liability related to uncertain tax positions at december 31, 2022.

PART XI, LINE 2D - OTHER ADJUSTMENTS:
