“The walla walla sheriff's foundation is organized exclusively for educational and charitable purposes. We will be a source of private support for the walla walla county sheriff's office and our principal purposes are to promote and further develop partnerships between the walla walla county sheriff's office and the citizens of the walla walla region; provide needed training to members of the walla walla county sheriff's office and their partners; provide needed equipment; develop and help support programs as they relate to public safety and community outreach; and provide financial assistance to those members of the walla walla county sheriff's office and their families that have been severely injured or killed in the line of duty.”

“Our main focus is on acquiring and maintaining sufficient funding for the ongoing needs of the walla walla county sheriff's office and the k9 program. It is the foundation's goal to maintain a level of funding that will allow for necessary support of the walla walla county sheriff's office and the replacement of a k9 when necessary. The foundation supports the purchase of the k9 officers, training and their equipment needs.”

“The foundation purchased first-responder survival kits for the walla walla sheriff's patrol deputies to be worn in an active shooter situation. The kits include a set of rifle plates and a carrier for first-responder active shooter situations. These kits will be worn when responding to high risk calls and were obtainable due to generous grants from the wildhorse foundation and naifa-blue mountain chapter. The plates will protect against rifle rounds and the carriers also have first-aid medical kits and pouches for back-up magazines.”

“D.a.r.e. Fundraiser over 2,900 was raised to support this important program here in walla walla valley at a spagetti feed fundraiser. So many people, organizations and businesses came together to show their support for our d.a.r.e. Program. The drug abuse resistance education (d.a.r.e.) is an international education program that seeks to prevent use of controlled drugs, membership in gangs, and violent behavior, d.a.r.e which has expanded globally since its founding in 1983, is a demand-side drug control strategy of the american war on drugs. Students who enter the program sign a pledge not to use drugs or join gangs and are taught by our deputy ian edwards about the dangers of drug use in an interactive in-school curriculum which lasts several weeks. The d.a.r.e. Program is currently in ww county schools. All proceeds from this event, along with the donations made that evening, will directly benefit the d.a.r.e. Program.”
