The warrior-scholar project (wsp) empowers enlisted military veterans by providing them with a skill bridge that enables a successful transisiton from the battlefield to the classroom; maximizes their education opportunities by making them infomred consumers of education, and increases the confidence they will need to successfully complete a rigorous four-year undergraduate program at a top-tier school.

“In 2024, warrior-scholar project collaborated with 26 higher education partners to provide college preparatory in-person and virtual academic boot camps and one-day community college workshops to transitioning service members and veterans. Boot camp programming served 302 unique individuals and 49 unique individuals were served through community college workshops. Warrior-scholar project operated 34 weeks of academic boot camp programming, 32 in the summer, and 2 weeks of virtual programming in december, as well as 6 single-day community college workshops. 525 boot camp program slots were provided as follows: 300 for humanities-focused boot camps; 165 for stem-focused boot camps; and 60 for business & entrepreneurship-focused boot camps. Warrior-scholar project's mission is to ensure that every degree-seeking enlisted veteran succeeds in their pursuit of higher education. Since its founding in 2011, more than 2,500 student veterans have participated in a wsp academic boot camp, its flagship program, and 88% of program alumni have earned or are on track to earn a college degree. The immersive college preparatory experience, hosted in partnership with leading universities nationwide, helps veterans prepare for the cultural transition from the military to academia. More than boot camps, wsp also offers programs to address the unique needs of student veterans, including integrated programming for underrepresented veterans, graduate school, and career field exploration. Recognizing the value wsp brings to veterans, the dept. Of veterans affairs collaborates with wsp to help veterans access information about wsp's free programming.”
