“The form 990 was prepared by the independent public accounting firm that conducts the financial statement audit of atlas and reviewed by the director of finance and the executive director. The draft form 990 was compared to financial data and all narrative information was reviewed for accuracy and completeness. Prior to filing, a complete copy of the form 990 was distributed to all voting board members.”

“All employees and board members are required to sign a conflict of interest statement annually. Any conflict of interest on the part of any employee or board member, or any member of the immediate family of an employee or board member occupying the same household, must be disclosed by the employee or board member to any member of the atlas board executive committee at least annually and made a matter of record. When any such interest becomes relevant to any subject requiring action of the atlas staff or board of directors, the employee or board members having a conflict calls it to the attention of the executive committee. If the potential conflict involves a member of the executive committee, the member takes no part in the committee's consideration of the issue. The employee or board member having the conflict will not participate or use any personal influence in the discussion of the subject or make any recommendations regarding the subject. However, the employee or board member will briefly state the nature of the conflict and will be expected to answer pertinent questions when the employee or board member's knowledge of the subject will assist atlas. Should the executive committee not be able to resolve any conflict raised by a board member or staff, the matter will be taken up by the full board of directors. The board's decision will be final in the matter.”

“The atlas board of directors approves the salary for the executive director. The board draws upon its collective knowledge of the notforprofit industry to determine compensation levels that are fiscally responsible but that also allow for the attraction and retention of excellent talent. The compensation review process is documented. The last compensation review took place in december 2022.”
