Mission

OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: $7,000 was donated to Solutions for Change, a non for profit 501(c)3 organization in Vista, California that lifts families and communities out of darkness and into independence with community-focused solutions, fighting against the churn of poverty and homelesssness to transform lives and restore community. The three programs work together to holistically solve the root cause of the challenges families are facing, so future generations can live without the burden of poverty, dependency and instability. Big solutions were in order and with the help of other community leaders and entrepreneurs, Solutions for Change was born. Their vision was different from the current handout approach to homelessness. It did not include more shelter beds, feeding programs or traditional human services, but rather an innovative, permanent solution focused on well-being and capacity building. Solutions for Change creates access for parents to the right set of opportunities, addresses root causes of dependency, and equips people with the skills, knowledge, and resources to permanently solve their homelessness. The comprehensive model addresses three key areas: personal development (well-being), workforce development (economic capacity), and community development (service). It blends affordable housing, educational opportunities, employment training and health related solutions all within one cohesive strategic partnership. Solutions Academy equips parents with the skills, knowledge and resources to completely transform themselves and their families in a 700 day, college-like experience. Solutions Enterprise teaches a collection of innovative social enterprise programs that empower residents to learn and earn. Solutions in the Community applies an investment by Solutions Academy students to help restore their community, and empower the community to support them in return. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: $7,000 WAS DONATED TO Community Resource Center, or CRC, a noT-for-profit organization in Encinitas, California addressing the homelessness and food issues in the community . Established in 1979, CRC has grown from providing basic needs for families in crisis, to offering extensive programs that facilitate the safety, stability, and self-sufficiency of low-income and episodically homeless households including domestic violence (DV) victims. CCRC works to end hunger, homelessness and domestic violence in North County San Diego. As a provider of integrative services, CRCs programs include a domestic violence emergency shelter, hotline and prevention/education outreach, a Therapeutic Childrens Center, professional counseling, legal advocacy, food and nutrition distribution center, homelessness prevention and rental and housing assistance. All of CRCs programs are designed to assist participants to successfully navigate their paths of safety, stability & self-sufficiency. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: $7,000 WAS DONATED TO Center for Community Solutions, Inc. (CCS), a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization founded in 1969, in San Diego, California that is funded through various grants, foundations, and private contributions. Funds raised go directly to providing intervention and prevention services to victims of relationship violence and sexual assault. CCS has served more than 17,000 adults and children last year to heal and prevent relationship and sexual violence. CCS operates the only rape crisis center in the city of San Diego along with a countywide 24-hour bilingual crisis helpline. The nonprofit agency also provides emergency domestic violence shelters, hospital and court accompaniment, as well as legal and counseling services for those affected by domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking. CCS also works with local community groups and schools to provide innovative prevention programs to promote healthy relationships and peaceful communities.
