Form 990, Part III, Line 2: New Services

We just started the Advance Community Energy project which will align energy planning in local communities with state climate goals and initiate innovative utility reform.

Form 990, Part III, Line 4D: Other Program Services Description

OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: Clean Transportation: The Center for Climate Protection worked on legislation to phase out fossil fuel powered vehicles in California. As part of this effort, we produced a report, "Survey of Global Activity to Phase Out Internal Combustion Engine Vehicles." We found that many countries such as China, Britain, France, and India have already set a date to phase out gas and diesel-powered vehicles. We hope that this report will help build momentum in the United States to pass similar measures. The Center is working locally with Sonoma Clean Power, a Community Choice agency that the Center for Climate Protection helped to start, and the Regional Climate Protection Authority on a program to help businesses connect with a state-funded electric vehicle (EV) workplace charging installation program. (Continued at Schedule O) OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5:

Form 990, Part III, Line 4A - Continuation of Program Accomplishments

Clean Power Exchange: Continued from Page 3. The Center has also been actively promoting CCE in the Central Valley to disadvantaged communities that have serious air quality issues. Recently, the city governments of Fresno (population 527,438 in 2017) and the city of Stockton (population of 310,000 in 2017) have voted to do feasibility studies on the potential of Community Choice for their jurisdictions. The Center is also part of a team selected by National Renewable Energy Labs to participate in a collaborative research effort to explore new ways that solar energy can improve the affordability, reliability, and resilience of electric grid. We are working with two CCEs - Lancaster Choice Energy in Southern California, and Peninsula Clean Energy in San Mateo County - on this effort. The Center was also selected with our partner, MCE Clean Energy by the California Energy Commission for a project to empower Community Choice agencies to use local, distributed clean energy in multi- family housing, commercial and public facilities, and to optimize the value of these resources to customers. In June the Center hosted our fifth Business of Local Energy Symposium in Irvine in Southern California, with 325 participants, all working to accelerate the building of California's clean energy economy. At the Symposium the Center announced our new Advanced Community Energy (ACE) initiative. ACE is a statewide program to create local clean electricity systems. The ACE model increases local resilience and energy security, helps to build the local economy, and includes communities in identifying local priorities.

Form 990, Part III, Line 4B - Continuation of Program Accomplishments

ECO2school: Continued from Page 3. These students designed and implemented education and encouragement activities that reached 28,962 students. The World Changers Career Pathway is a project of ECO2school that aims to support youth in making climate central to their educational, career, and lifestyle choices. This year, it provided four paid college climate fellows (interns) and five competitive $1,000 scholarships to students for their implementation of carbon reduction projects.

Form 990, Part III, Line 4C - Continuation of Program Accomplishments

Clean Transportation: Continued from Page 3. Studies have shown that if there is charging at the workplace, employees are twenty times more likely to purchase an EV. The Center was responsible for getting key business in Sonoma County to apply for the program, including Amy's Kitchen, Basin Street Properties, Redwood Credit Union, and Oliver's Market.

IRS990/Desc0Clean Power Exchange: CPX is the Center's program that advances the expansion Community Choice Energy (CCE) across California. CCE is a program available to local governments that allows them to buy and generate cleaner electricity for businesses and residents. CCE is one of the most powerful measures a local community can take to significantly and rapidly reduce its greenhouse gas emissions. The Clean Power Exchange website is a hub of resources, information, and news for stakeholders across California interested in Community Choice. We track communities' progress toward Community Choice implementation. We share resources, news, and we offer a series of webinars designed to accelerate adoption of best practices. There are now 19 CCE programs operating in California, serving 10 million customers power that is 88% clean energy. (Continued at Schedule O)

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0ECO2school: ECO2school is a service-learning program teaching climate literacy and leadership skills to high school students. Teens promote walking and biking to their peers to reduce emissions and achieve long-term personal, community, and environmental health. Over the last school year ECO2school worked in 16 Sonoma County schools and reached 15,063 students, of which 9,574 participated in at least one action to reduce their emissions like riding their bike or walking more. This year ECO2school launched its regional program in partnership with Spare the Air Youth, offering micro-grants to partner organizations across the Bay Area, allowing us to reach an additional eight Bay Area high schools in five counties. ECO2school staff implemented youth leadership trainings with 272 students across the Bay Area. (Continued at Schedule O)

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc0Clean Transportation: The Center for Climate Protection worked on legislation to phase out fossil fuel powered vehicles in California.
