“The purpose of the program is to require that the offender pay a debt to society by working in the community. It is intended that the offenders involved in the program will benefit from the imposed rules and sanctions that hold them accountable.”

“Lake region community service serves the counties of benson, nelson, ramsey, and towner in north dakota by offering community service & drug screening programs. Community service requires offenders to voluneer a specified number of hours to repair their debt to socity for the damages caused and can be used as an alternative to incarceration. Drug screening is for offenders of certain drug related offenses required by courts to submit to random drug screenings as part of their sentence. In 2017, the case loads for lake region community service consisted of 341 for community service and 319 for drug screening.”
