Membership in the missouri farm bureau federation is open to county farm bureaus that are legally incorporated, have adopted bylaws, elected officers, and maintain a membership of at least 50 farm, rural or agri-business members. Each county farm bureau is entitled to one voting delegate (bylaws required 50 farm, rural or agri-business members before the county unit is a recognized member of the missouri farm bureau federation). In addition, the county is entitled to one voting delegate for each one hundred farm, rural or agri-business members or major fraction thereof. The board of directors are elected to two year terms by the members.

The member county farm bureaus elect new directors to the board every two years. Each member of the county farm bureaus is allowed one vote in the election.

Compensation of the officers of missouri farm bureau federation is determined and paid by missouri farm bureau services, inc and subsidiaries, a wholly owned subsidiary. Missouri farm bureau services, inc. Establishes the ceo's compensation annually by a three member compensation committee made up of the vice president of the board and two other board members. The board appoints the two other board members to serve on the committee. In addition, the human resource director for missouri farm bureau services, inc. Provides regional comparable ceo salary information to assist the committee in establishing the ceo's compensation.

MFB POLICY POSITIONS ARE DETERMINED BY THE THOUSANDS OF MISSOURIANS WHO ARE ITS MEMBERS. THE RESOLUTIONS COMMITTEE MEETS EACH YEAR IN JUNE TO CONSIDER CURRENT ISSUES AND QUESTIONS FOR THE POLICY QUESTIONNAIRE THAT APPEARS IN THE JULY ISSUE OF SHOW ME MISSOURI FARM BUREAU MAGAZINE. COUNTY FARM BUREAUS REVIEW MEMBER RESPONSES AND SUBMIT POLICY RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE RESOLUTIONS COMMITTEE. IN OCTOBER, THE RESOLUTIONS COMMITTEE REVIEWS COUNTY RECOMMENDATIONS AND PREPARES TENTATIVE POLICY RESOLUTIONS. AT THE STATE ANNUAL MEETING IN DECEMBER, VOTING DELEGATES REPRESENTING COUNTY FARM BUREAUS OFFER AMENDMENTS FROM THE DELEGATE FLOOR. DELEGATES VOTE ON ALL EXISTING AND AMENDED POLICY RESOLUTIONS.
