Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Young voices is an organization that gives low-income youth the tools to have a voice - to master the skills needed to understand an issue, think strategically, speak out articulately and persuasively, and assume roles of leadership.

The mission of young voices is to ensure youth have a voice in the decisions that impact their lives, so we have to "walk the talk" in our own organization. Therefore, our board of directors is dominated by youth who participate in our training. The youth work alongside dedicated adult professionals to guide the organization and sustain its work, serving as committee chairs and raising funds for young voices. Their participation on the board is yet another opportunity for them to build advanced leadership skills.

THEIR PARTICIPATION ON THE BOARD IS YET ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY FOR THEM TO BUILD ADVANCED LEADERSHIP SKILLS.
