“The mission of southeast enterprises (se) provides meaningful employment and opportunities to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities live life to the fullest. Southeast enterprises is an extended employment enterprise (sheltered workshop) that served 134 individuals in 2024 assisted by 18 staff and support personnel. Individuals took pride in working a total of 85,956.75 productive hours and producing 4,300,490 various items and products for well-known customers in the human, animal, and safety sectors. These individuals had a significant impact on their community and missouri's economy. Total contractual business valued at 3,853,147 of which 46,692 came from se's transitional community employment program called associates on the move. Employee wages for 2024 were 868,138. Employees surveyed responded 91% satisfied or highly satisfied with the the work they were engaged in daily. They rated their physical safety 92% and their emotional safety 88%. Of all employees with i/dd, 93% felt supported in attaining or meeting their goals and/or interests. Se offers ten (10) paid holidays, including dr. Martin luther king, jr. Day and juneteenth to respond to our diverse and inclusive culture. While se trains and prepares individuals with job skills, confidence to be more self-determined, responsibilities and socialization, many find fulfillment in a variety of leadership roles within the organization or as they prepare for employment in the for-profit sector. The associates on the move program also gives individuals an opportunity to explore working in the community at customer sites for minimum wage. Small teams with known co-workers are designed to develop professional skills and specific skill sets to help individuals discover potential career goals. This year 18% took advantage of this program working 2,322 hours in the community, 1 individual is preparing to transition to community employment while 1 has acquired a community job. In addition, se helped equip community employers to better support neurodiverse learners at all sites. Understanding money, count currency, and understand budgeting also became a learning focus. Se also has a formal internship partnership with the university of kansas medical center, occupational therapy education. A robust portfolio of 16 professional life skills vocational training was implemented for a total of 1,393 hours where all employees participated. Se provided another 32,080 hours of community engagement and advocacy activities, socialization,employee parties, vacation, and benefits.”

THESE INDIVIDUALS HAD A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON THEIR COMMUNITY AND MISSOURI'S ECONOMY. TOTAL CONTRACTUAL BUSINESS VALUED AT 3,853,147 OF WHICH 46,692 CAME FROM SE'S TRANSITIONAL COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM CALLED ASSOCIATES ON THE MOVE. EMPLOYEE WAGES FOR 2024 WERE 868,138. EMPLOYEES SURVEYED RESPONDED 91% SATISFIED OR HIGHLY SATISFIED WITH THE THE WORK THEY WERE ENGAGED IN DAILY. THEY RATED THEIR PHYSICAL SAFETY 92% AND THEIR EMOTIONAL SAFETY 88%. IN ADDITION, SE HELPED EQUIP COMMUNITY EMPLOYERS TO BETTER SUPPORT NEURODIVERSE LEARNERS AT ALL SITES. UNDERSTANDING MONEY, COUNT CURRENCY, AND UNDERSTAND BUDGETING ALSO BECAME A LEARNING FOCUS. SE ALSO HAS A FORMAL INTERNSHIP PARTNERSHIP WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS MEDICAL CENTER, OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY EDUCATION.
