Activity 2

The HUD Housing Choice Voucher Program is the federal government's major program for assisting very-low income families, the elderly, and the disabled to afford decent, safe, sanitary, and affordable rental housing. Rental Assistance is provided on behalf of the family, allowing the family to select their own home. Families may choose any housing that meets the requirements of the program. Generally, the family will pay 30% of their adjusted income toward housing cost (rent + utilities) with the balance in the form of rental assistance. Many families utilize rental assistance for a limited time while simultaneously working to improve other items affecting their lives.Housing Rental Assistance serves over 500 low-income families annually through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Section 8. Wait list priorities apply to all assistance.Program served 764 participants during the year.

Activity 3

Ozark Action, Inc. Workforce Development Center provides a wide range of services, funded by the federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998. We serve individuals by providing employment and training services which result in long term career placement. Core Services are available to everyone accessing a One-Stop Center. A few of the Core Services offered include: Orientation, Job Search and Placement, and Work Preparedness Workshops. Intensive Services are provided to customers to assist them in completing an educational program or to secure and hold employment. Intensive Services include: Individualized Counseling and Career Planning, Case Management, Supportive Services, Mentoring Services, Tutoring and Study Skills Training, Leadership Development Activities, Work Experience, Missouri Dislocated Worker, and Welfare-to-Work.Programs served 566 participants during the year.
