Employees sign their acknowledgement of the policy and their adherence at new employee orientation. Upon discovery of the misappropriation, the university performed a comprehensive internal investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the theft and to implement both corrective and preventative measures. In response to the incident, the university has implemented additional security measure to fortify the premises and safeguard technology equipment. This includes the installation of surveillance camera, access controls, and enhanced monitoring protocols. A comprehensive review of the entire technology equipment inventory has been done to update internal records, including the implementation of an asset tracking database. The existing procurement and asset management practices and policies have been reviewed and updated to ensure they align with best practices and provide broad control to prevent theft and unauthorized access.”
