Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 28

In the sixth full year of operation for the licking united community help center, an average of 380 people each month of 2013 were able to be helped.the number of households served for 2013 was 1,880. Each year results in more people who require assistance from the center. With the assistance of cash and noncash donations from individuals, community organizations, churches, businesses, and government programs, the center reached out to a variety of individuals in various circumstances to provide food/clothing on a continuing and/or emergency basis. Home deliveries are made to approximately 30 homebound individuals each month. Thanksgiving turkeys and christmas hams were provided to many needy families. The center also operates a thrift center, which receives noncash items for resale in order for such proceeds to be used for its programs. The center is operated on a purely volunteer basis, with the help of approximately 20 individuals. These individuals provided a total of 19,422 volunteer hours in 2013. The center did pave their parking lot, install a gate and continue to look towards the coming year for a possible addition to the building. The needs continue to increase each year and in order to serve the community, additional space may be needed for food and the thrift items. The center is trying to retain enough cash in reserve for these capital needs and maintain a working balance for emergencies.
