Community foundation sonoma county has a controlling interest in sonoma paradiso foundation and appoints 4 of the 7 members of the board of directors.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11

Taxpayer's accounting firm forwarded the form 990 to the vp of finance and operations. The paid preparer presented the form 990 to the audit committee at an in-person meeting, where all questions and comments were addressed. A paper copy of the form 990 was provided to all voting members of the board except for schedule b and were encouraged to forward questions and comments to the vp. Board members had an opportunity to review schedule b during an in-person meeting prior to filing.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The foundation is exempt from federal income tax on related income under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code (the "code") and has been classified as an organization which is not a private foundation as defined in sections 509(a)(1) and 170(b)(i)(a)(vi) of the code. In addition, the foundation could be subject to tax on unrelated business income, if any, generated by its investments. The foundation follows the guidance of fasb asc topic 740 - accounting for uncertainty in income taxes. As of december 31, 2015, management evaluated the foundation's tax positions and concluded that the foundation had maintained its tax exempt status and had taken no uncertain tax positions that require adjustment to the financial statements.

IN ADDITION, THE FOUNDATION COULD BE SUBJECT TO TAX ON UNRELATED BUSINESS INCOME, IF ANY, GENERATED BY ITS INVESTMENTS.
