To drive economic and workforce development, downtown development, and regional business development.

Major Activities

Activity 2
Regional Business Development and Workforce Attraction/Community Development: The Partnership through its visionary model is aligned with over twenty regional Chambers of Commerce and as a result boasts more than four thousand member organizations in the region. It offers a regional member directory, online database and resources, and distributes a weekly email newsletter. Its workforce development efforts connect employers and prospects across several workforce sectors and continues to increase programming efforts via new technologies and programs.
Activity 3
Business Accelerator Program: The Business Innovation Zone ("the BIZ") was launched in 2007 to assist entrepreneurs and small businesses in the region. Specifically, the BIZ provides opportunities to strategically assess the commercial feasibility of products and services. In addition, it offers consultative resources in order to assist start-up ventures in the development of product and service offerings. The BIZ provides services to a number of clients and prospects, and is funded through the combination of service fees and revenues, supporting grants provided by sponsoring organizations and institutions, and other grant revenues.

IRS990/Description0Regional Economic Development: Regional economic development is the cornerstone of the Partnership's mission. In 2011, goals were accomplished by assisting with 22 business expansions, 12 new company relocations to the region, increased capital investment of more than $310 million in the region, and 1,300 new/retained jobs. In accomplishing these goals, the Partnership visited 258 local companies, pursued 29 prospect visits and carried out 26 recruitment trips and tradeshows. In addition, Partnership efforts resulted in several high-profile media placements which highlighted regional strengths and opportunities.
