Mission and Program Overview

Mission

The minnesota biodiesel council is involved in promoting the use and understanding of biodiesel, educating consumers and biodiesel partners, and to work with the legislature to improve the biodiesel industry.

The organization was formed for the purpose of promoting the business interests and bettering the business conditions of minnesota soybean farmers. The organization will seek to persuade minnesota legislature to enact legislation promoting the use of biodiesel fuels, which are made using soybeans. Directors, officers and hired representatives will monitor pending legislation and will contact and meet with legislators and executive branch officials in order to educate them about the benefits of biodiesel fuels. In additon, the organization will solicit support, financial and otherwise, from soybean farmers and other persons and entities in the agricultural sector. The organization initiated these activities at the beginning of the 2001 legislative session in january, 2001.
