Praxis international (praxis) has earned a national reputation for innovative and survivor-focused approaches to working with communities, organizations, and institutions to promote justice and end gender-based violence. Since 1998 praxis has implemented comprehensive and targeted technical assistance projects for the u. S. Department of justice, office on violence against women (ovw) grantees and potential grantees in various grant programs and also provided capacity building and consultation to myriad communities and organizations around the country. Praxis is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with an active board of directors, all of whom are volunteers. The board establishes all governing documents, and the organizational conflict of interest policy. The board approves the annual organizational budget and reviews quarterly financial statements. These documents are available to the public upon request. The primary focus of praxiss work is to teach effective advocacy while strengthening systems and community responses to survivors of genderbased violence. As a national training, consulting, capacity-building, and technical assistance provider, praxis has worked with thousands of people and hundreds of communities seeking to respond to and end gender-based violence in rural, tribal, suburban, and urban communities. Praxis employs a wide range of strategies including training workshops, seminars, practice labs, webinars, and distance learning featuring national experts and peer- to-peer dialogues; roundtables convened to delve deep into issues and foster creative thinking; comprehensive tool kits to help apply new approaches; emerging issue discussions; conference presentations; and a website rich with free materials. For close to twenty-eight years, praxis has conducted dozens of on-site consultations throughout the country, trained more than 14,000 people, provided more than 600 trainings for advocates and institutional workers; conducted over 100 community safety assessments in partnership with local communities; and produced numerous resources. Our current initiatives include the advocacy comprehensive training and technical assistance project, the rural comprehensive training and technical assistance project, the strengthening rural advocacy project, the rural initiatives for service enhancement, and the institutional analysis program.

SINCE 1998 PRAXIS HAS IMPLEMENTED COMPREHENSIVE AND TARGETED TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROJECTS FOR THE U. S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, OFFICE ON VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN (OVW) GRANTEES AND POTENTIAL GRANTEES IN VARIOUS GRANT PROGRAMS AND ALSO PROVIDED CAPACITY BUILDING AND CONSULTATION TO MYRIAD COMMUNITIES AND ORGANIZATIONS AROUND THE COUNTRY. PRAXIS IS A 501(C)(3) NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION WITH AN ACTIVE BOARD OF DIRECTORS, ALL OF WHOM ARE VOLUNTEERS. THE BOARD ESTABLISHES ALL GOVERNING DOCUMENTS, AND THE ORGANIZATIONAL CONFLICT OF INTEREST POLICY. THE BOARD APPROVES THE ANNUAL ORGANIZATIONAL BUDGET AND REVIEWS QUARTERLY FINANCIAL STATEMENTS. THESE DOCUMENTS ARE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC UPON REQUEST. THE PRIMARY FOCUS OF PRAXISS WORK IS TO TEACH EFFECTIVE ADVOCACY WHILE STRENGTHENING SYSTEMS AND COMMUNITY RESPONSES TO SURVIVORS OF GENDERBASED VIOLENCE. AS A NATIONAL TRAINING, CONSULTING, CAPACITY-BUILDING, AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROVIDER, PRAXIS HAS WORKED WITH THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE AND HUNDREDS OF COMMUNITIES SEEKING TO RESPOND TO AND END GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE IN RURAL, TRIBAL, SUBURBAN, AND URBAN COMMUNITIES. PRAXIS EMPLOYS A WIDE RANGE OF STRATEGIES INCLUDING TRAINING WORKSHOPS, SEMINARS, PRACTICE LABS, WEBINARS, AND DISTANCE LEARNING FEATURING NATIONAL EXPERTS AND PEER- TO-PEER DIALOGUES; ROUNDTABLES CONVENED TO DELVE DEEP INTO ISSUES AND FOSTER CREATIVE THINKING; COMPREHENSIVE TOOL KITS TO HELP APPLY NEW APPROACHES; EMERGING ISSUE DISCUSSIONS; CONFERENCE PRESENTATIONS; AND A WEBSITE RICH WITH FREE MATERIALS. FOR CLOSE TO TWENTY-EIGHT YEARS, PRAXIS HAS CONDUCTED DOZENS OF ON-SITE CONSULTATIONS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY, TRAINED MORE THAN 14,000 PEOPLE, PROVIDED MORE THAN 600 TRAININGS FOR ADVOCATES AND INSTITUTIONAL WORKERS; CONDUCTED OVER 100 COMMUNITY SAFETY ASSESSMENTS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LOCAL COMMUNITIES; AND PRODUCED NUMEROUS RESOURCES.
