Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

U.s. Gaap requires management to evaluate tax positions taken by the organization and recognize a tax liability if the organization has taken an uncertain position that more likely than not would not be sustained upon examination by the internal revenue service. Management has analyzed the tax positions taken by the organization, and has concluded that as of june 30, 2016, there are no uncertain positions taken or expected to be taken that would require recognition of a liability or disclosure in the financial statements. The organization is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions; however, there are currently no audits for any tax periods in progress. The organization believes it is no longer subject to income tax examinations for years prior to 2012.

IRS990/Desc0DIRECT SERVICES STANDARD: A TOTAL OF 506 CASES WERE DOCUMENTED DURING THIS FISCAL YEAR WITH SERVICES PROVIDED DURING 3,678 VICTIM CONTACTS. THE TOTAL NUMBER OF DIRECT SERVICE HOURS PROVIDED, NOT INCLUDING SUPPORT GROUP HOURS OR EDUCATION HOURS, WAS 3,917. THE HIGHEST PERCENTAGE OF SERVICES ARE PROVIDED TO 13-29 YEAR OLDS WITH 1,417 SERVICE CONTACTS RECORDED. SERVICES WERE PROVIDED TO 502 PRIMARY VICTIMS AND 235 SECONDARY VICTIMS. THE CENTER CONTINUES TO STRIVE TO PROVIDE THE HIGHEST QUALITY SERVICES POSSIBLE TO SUPPORT THE SELF-DEFINED NEEDS OF VICTIMS/SURVIVORS. SYTEMS CHANGE AND PROFESSIONAL TRAINING PROGRAM STANDARD: THE CENTER CONTINUES TO MAINTAIN AND ENHANCE THEIR WORKING RELATIONSHIPS WITH SYSTEMS' PERSONNEL. OUR FEEDBACK SYSTEM HAS SHOWN A CONSISTENT PATTERN OF HIGH LEVELS OF SATISFACTION FROM PROFESSIONALS WORKING TOGETHER ON SEXUAL ASSAULT CASES. WE ALSO CONTINUE TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL TRAINING TO MULTI- DISCIPLINARY PROFESSIONALS. 51 PRESENTATIONS WERE PROVIDED TO 1,741 MULTI- DISCIPLINARY PROFESSIONALS. THE ORGANIZATION IS ALSO COMMITTED TO PRIMARY PREVENTION EDUCATION TO COMMUNITY MEMBERS. 151 TRAININGS WERE PROVIDED TO 3,542 COMMUNITY MEMBERS. THE VAST MAJORITY OF THE PARTICIPANTS WERE MIDDLE-SCHOOL, HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE AGE STUDENTS. ONE OUTCOME BASED NUMBER THAT IS INDICATIVE OF SYSTEM CHANGE IS OUR HIGH REPORTING PERCENTAGES. WE FAR EXCEED THE NATIONAL AVERAGE. IN FYE16, 57% OF THE NEW CASES WERE REPORTED TO LAW ENFORCEMENT. CLIENTS SURVEYED ALSO REPORTED A 95% SATISFACTION RATE REGARDING SERVICES RECEIVED. WE BELIEVE THIS IS DUE TO WORKING MORE AS A TEAM OF MULTI-DISCIPLINARY PROFESSIONALS IN RESPONSE TO SEXUAL ASSAULT CASES. STAFF DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM STANDARD: THE CENTER'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS CONTINUES TO SUPPORT POLICIES TO MAINTAIN AND IMPROVE THE PROFESSIONAL SKILLS OF STAFF; ALTHOUGH, THIS HAS BECOME MORE LIMITED DUE TO BUDGET CONSTRAINTS. SEVERAL STAFF ARE REQUIRED BY THEIR LICENSURE TO DO CONTINUING EDUCATION. WE CONTINUE TO BRING IN SPEAKERS FOR MONTHLY TRAININGS FOR VOLUNTEERS. THE CENTER ALSO INVESTS IN RESOURCE MATERIALS FOR STAFF DEVELOPMENT. REGULAR STAFF MEETINGS ARE ALSO UTILIZED TO PROMOTE STAFF DEVELOPMENT OF SKILLS. CENTER STAFF PARTICIPATE IN A WIDE VARIETY OF COMMUNITY GROUPS AND/OR PLANNING COMMITTEES WHICH INVOLVE PARTNERSHIPS WITH MULTI-DISCIPLINARY PROFESSIONALS.
