Mission

The american shoulder and elbow surgeons (the "society") is a national not-for-profit corporation organized to develop scientific programs, organize the current field of knowledge, facilitate standardization of nomenclature, publish scientific materials, and act as a stimulant to research by providing a forum for presentation of new scientific advances. The society collects member dues, holds educational conferences and publishes the "journal of shoulder and elbow surgery" a bi monthly scientific publication.

Major Activities

Activity 2
Publication of medical journal and periodic newsletter disseminating information relative to developments in the expanding field of knowledge of surgery of the shoulder and elbow.
Activity 3
The objective of the ases research grant is to encourage new investigators by providing seed and start-up funding for promising shoulder and elbow research projects.

THE SOCIETY FILES TAX RETURNS IN THE U.S. FEDERAL JURISDICTION AND ILLINOIS STATE JURISDICTION. THE SOCIETY IS NO LONGER SUBJECT TO U.S. FEDERAL AND STATE INCOME TAX EXAMINATIONS FOR YEARS BEFORE 2008.
