THIS PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO HELP COMMUNITY FOUNDATIONS IMPROVE THEIR COMMUNITIES' CAPACITY TO PREPARE FOR AND RESPOND TO DISASTERS, BUILDING RESILIENCE FROM MITIGATION TO LONG-TERM COMMUNITY RECOVERY.IN 2017 DSACF CONTINUED GRANT FUNDING TO SUPPORT THE OPPORTUNITY GAP INITIATIVE TO ADDRESS THE INEQUITY IN OPPORTUNITY THAT ONE CULTURALLY, RACIALLY AND/OR FINANCIALLY SIMILAR GROUP HAS IN COMPARISON TO ANOTHER. THE VISION, BEGINNING WITH AN INITIAL GROUP OF GRANTEES, IS TO DEVELOP A COMMUNITY THAT EMBRACES DIVERSITY AND INCLUSIVITY, WHERE ALL CHILDREN HAVE ABUNDANT OPPORTUNITIES, AND FEEL RESPECTED, SAFE AND SECURE.
