DSACF UTILIZED ITS WORK OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS DEVELOPING READY NORTH, A LOCAL DISASTER RESILIENCE-BUILDING NETWORK, TO ADDRESS GAPS IN AWARENESS OF SERVICES AND SUPPORT MENTAL-WELLBEING, KEY AREAS OF NEED IDENTIFIED BY MULTIPLE PARTNERS DURING SURGES OF THE PANDEMIC. THE SPEAK YOUR PEACE: THE CIVILITY PROJECT INITIATIVE OF DSACF PROVIDED MULTIPLE VIRTUAL COMMUNITY GATHERING OPPORTUNITIES TO INCREASE UNDERSTANDING WITH FRONT-LINE SERVICE WORKERS (E.G., TEACHERS, FIREFIGHTERS, POLICE, DOCTORS, ETC.) AND YOUNG ADULTS OF MARGINALIZED IDENTITIES. GRANT AND SCHOLARSHIP FUNDING CONTINUED TO SUPPORT THE OPPORTUNITY RISING INITIATIVE. THE PURPOSE OF OPPORTUNITY RISING IS TO BRING TOGETHER PEOPLE FROM ALL BACKGROUNDS, INCOMES, ETHNICITIES, BELIEFS AND NEIGHBORHOODS TO FORGE A PATH TO REAL AND MEANINGFUL EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR EVERY CHILD IN DULUTH AND SUPERIOR. THE ATTRACT AND RETAIN YOUNG ADULTS INITIATIVE CONTINUED ITS MISSION OF INCREASING QUALITY OF LIFE AND CIVIC ENGAGEMENT OF YOUNG ADULTS IN THE TWIN PORTS OF DULUTH AND SUPERIOR THROUGH GRANTMAKING.
