Activity 2

Academic support and student servicesaugsburg college provides innovative programming and support services to a diverse community of more than 4,000 undergraduate and graduate learners. Through the gage center for academic achievement, students with cognitive, learning, and physical disabilities receive counseling and services including tutoring, notetakers, testing accommodations, and adaptive technology which help them reach their potential and achieve independence. In the 2010-11 academic year, more than 200 students accessed services provided by the gage center programs. The trio/student support services program helps first-generation and low-income students succeed in college with a summer "bridge" program, ongoing academic support, and scholarships. The stepup program, one of the nation's only collegiate recovery communities, supports more than 75 students each year with counseling, substance-free housing, and leadership opportunities. Through the integrated services of the enrollment center, students in all programs and their families can receive counseling and support with tuition and financial aid, academic advising, and registration.

Activity 3

Auxiliary servicesaugsburg college's residential life program seeks to develop residents who are both students and neighbors in an urban collegiate setting while being grounded in liberal arts, intentional diversity, and faith. The college has five residence halls and three dining venues. During 2010-11, augsburg was home to 1,068 students (26%), with 813 students (20%) participating in the residence student meal plans. A'viands dining service strives to provide a wide variety of meals that meets nutritional and cultural requirements and educates students about food, nutrition, and sustainable food practices. A campus bookstore serves students, faculty, staff, and the general public, offering a variety of fair trade goods.
