Financial Statement Notes

PART II, LINE 5:

The chippewa county land conservancy (land trust) monitors its easement properties regularly, at the least, annually in a manner appropriate to the size and restrictions of each property. The land trust keeps documentation (such as reports, updated photographs and maps) of each monitoring activity. The land trust maintains regular contact with the landowner and builds a positive working relationship with them to ensure that easement restrictions are followed. The chippewa county land conservancy has created and maintains an endowment fund for its easements to cover any stewardship or enforcement costs that may occur. All of the above are outlined in a written policy and are included in the conservation easement language.

THE LAND TRUST MAINTAINS REGULAR CONTACT WITH THE LANDOWNER AND BUILDS A POSITIVE WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH THEM TO ENSURE THAT EASEMENT RESTRICTIONS ARE FOLLOWED. THE CHIPPEWA COUNTY LAND CONSERVANCY HAS CREATED AND MAINTAINS AN ENDOWMENT FUND FOR ITS EASEMENTS TO COVER ANY STEWARDSHIP OR ENFORCEMENT COSTS THAT MAY OCCUR. ALL OF THE ABOVE ARE OUTLINED IN A WRITTEN POLICY AND ARE INCLUDED IN THE CONSERVATION EASEMENT LANGUAGE.
