“The organization was significantly impacted by the covid-19 pandemic during the second half of the fiscal year ended august 31, 2020. Major areas affected by shutdown orders and other capacity limiting mandates include the organization's catering services, facility rentals, childcare services, fitness center, food pantry, and other food related program services. The most significantly impacted program services are as follows: 1) hospitality services - normally, a large portion of the organization's revenue is derived from its hospitality services, which include facility rental fees for weddings and other gatherings, as well as catering services for these events. Many of the weddings and larger events scheduled for mid-march 2020 through the end of the fiscal year were canceled and large refunds were issued. 2) childcare services - another significant program service and driver of revenue is the organization's childcare services. The organization was forced to shut down childcare services entirely for several months during the fiscal year ended august 31, 2020. The organization was allowed to re-open for its childcare services in mid-june 2020; however, classroom capacity was extremely limited due to restrictions, which effectively reduced the number of classrooms available and children per classroom. 3) food pantry - there was a significant increase in demand (about 300-400%) for the organizations food pantry services during the second half of fiscal year 2020, due to the number of families in need. The food pantry adapted to be a no-contact, drive-up service in which pre-packed boxes of food were put into cars. Additionally, the organization's staff provided more meal delivery services to families in need in the community.”
