CMH HOUSING, INC. OPERATES A 20 UNIT APARTMENT BUILDING KNOWN AS RIDGEVIEW APARTMENTS, WHICH SERVES ELDERLY AND DISABLED RESIDENTS OF THE COMMUNITY. THIS APARTMENT UNIT IS SUBSIDIZED BY THE US DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HUD), ENABLING IT'S TENANTS TO INCUR RENT EXPENSE BASED ON THEIR INCOME LEVELS. THIS ALLOWS THE RESIDENTS TO LIVE IN A MORE COMFORATBLE SETTING THAN THEY OTHERWISE WOULD BE ABLE TO AFFORD ON THEIR OWN. THE RENT CALCULATION IS 30% OF THE TENANTS INCOME AFTER MEDICAL EXPENSES ARE DEDUCTED. IN 2021, $85,090 OR APPROXIMATELY 52% OF THE RENT INCOME RECEIVED BY CMH HOUSING WAS PAID BY HUD, MEANING THE TENANTS RESPONSIBILITY AVERAGED APPROXIMATELY 48% OF RENT CHARGED.A LARGE POSITIVE IMPACT CMH HOUSING HAS ON THE COMMUNITY IS HAVING ALL 20 UNITS IN THE BUILDING HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE. THIS ALLOWS SEVERLY DISABLED INDIVIDUALS TO LIVE IN THE INDEPENDENT SETTING WITH ALL OF THE AMENITIES THEY NEED TO FUNCTION ON THEIR OWN OR WITH ASSISTANCE FROM CAREGIVERS. HALF OF THE BUILDINGS UNITS ARE TWO BEDROOM APARTMENTS WHICH HELP ACCOMODATE INDIVIDUALS WITH LIVE IN CAREGIVERS. IN ADDITION TO THE APARTMENTS BEING SET UP FOR HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLILITY, THE APARTMENT COMPLEX IS ALSO LOCATED ADJACENT TO ST. CLAIRE HOSPITAL WHICH ALLOWS TENANTS EASY ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE COVERAGE WHEN IT IS REQUIRED.THE COMMUNITY ROOM IN RIDGEVIEW APARTMENTS IS A PLACE WHERE TENANTS CAN GATHER TO SOCIALIZE. QUATERLY SOCIAL EVENTS AND AN ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY AS LONG AS SAFETY CONCERNS ARE MET DUE TO COVID. IN 2021, NO QUARTERLY EVENTS OCCURRED DUE TO COVID 19 EPIDEMIC. TENANTS ALSO ORGANIZE THEIR OWN CARD GAMES AND USE THE COMMUNITY ROOM FOR PERSONAL PARTIES WITH THEIR FAMILIES AND OTHER RESIDENTS.
