Financial Statement Notes

Part X, Line 2:

WISCONSIN COALITION AGAINST SEXUAL ASSAULT, INC. (WCASA) is required to assess whether it is more likely than not that a tax position will be sustained upon examination on the technical merits of the position assuming the taxing authority has full knowledge of all information. If the tax position does not meet the more likely than not recognition threshold, the benefit of that position is not recognized in the financial statements. WCASA has determined there are no amounts to record as assets or liabilities related to uncertain tax positions.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0Rape Prevention Education:The prevention of sexual violence requires a comprehensive, community-wide approach. When we speak of prevention, we are not talking just about stopping someone from doing something in the moment, but about changing the cultural perspective and thought process so that violent behaviors are not even seen as an option. The organization's program works to implement a spectrum of prevention: Strengthening Individual Knowledge and Skills, enhancing an individual's capability of preventing injury or illness and promoting safety; Promoting Community Education, reaching groups of people with information and resources to promote health and safety; Educating Providers, Informing providers who will transmit skills and knowledge to others; Fostering Coalitions and Networks, convening groups and individuals for broader goals and greater impact; Changing Organizational Practices, adopting regulations and shaping norms to improve health and safety; and Influencing Policy and Legislation, developing strategies to change laws and policies to influence outcomes.
