Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 6

Cloverbelt credit union is owned and operated by its 17,462 members and a volunteer board of directors. To qualify as a member you must have a minimum of $5.00 in a savings account and live or work in marathon, lincoln, wood, portage, clark, langlade, shawano or taylor counties.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7A

Any person that qualifies to be a member of cloverbelt credit union has the same voting rights to elect one or more members of the governing body (board of directors). The board of directors are elected by the members utilizing their one vote per member.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

The form 990 is reviewed by the executive vice president, chief financial officer with the board of directors.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

Each year all employees and board of directors complete a written conflict of interest form agreeing to abide by our conflict of interest policy. A form is also completed by each new hire. Our core computer systems allows us to input employee account numbers in their user set up and prevents them from performing transactions on their own accounts or accounts they have joint ownership on. We also review security reports to verify no activity has been performed by an employee on their own account.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15

Compensation for the ceo is determined by the board of directors. The salary is based on the performance and asset size of the credit union. Credit union compensation surveys are also evaluated. The president/ceo determines the salaries for other officers of the credit union. The salary is based on the performance and asset size of the credit union as well as industry averages based on credit union compensation surveys.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

We do not make the by-laws or conflict of interest policy available to the public. Monthly financial statements are posted in our foyer for members to view. Financial statements are also available by viewing the ncua 5300 call report. We would also provide a copy of the annual form 990 if requested.
