Mission

The wisconsin optometric association is a nonprofit affiliate of licensed optometrists and associated businesses dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of the vision welfare of the people of wisconsin. The wisconsin optometric association (woa) exists to benefit every citizen through the development and delivery of cost effective, high quality, state of the art eye care equally available to everyone; and to maintain high technical and professional standards by all optometrists in all endeavors. The woa accomplishes this by: -education and dissemination of information to its members and the general public -organized governmental activity -mediation with consumer and public interest groups -providing collective benefits to members vision statement: the wisconsin optometric association assists doctors of optometry in providing state of the art eye care to benefit their patients and communities. This goal is accomplished by continuous outreach, advocacy and education for the benefit

VISION STATEMENT: THE WISCONSIN OPTOMETRIC ASSOCIATION ASSISTS DOCTORS OF OPTOMETRY IN PROVIDING STATE OF THE ART EYE CARE TO BENEFIT THEIR PATIENTS AND COMMUNITIES. THIS GOAL IS ACCOMPLISHED BY CONTINUOUS OUTREACH, ADVOCACY AND EDUCATION FOR THE BENEFIT OF OUR MEMBERS AND THEIR PATIENTS. The Wisconsin Optometric Association sponsors 5 continuing education events each year in different parts of the state in order to provide Wisconsin doctors of optometry the most up to date information in eye care. In recent years there has been an emphasis placed on communications, both internally with members and externally with the public. This includes increased communication with media outlets. The WOA also places an emphasis on benevolent eye care programs for children such as VISION USA which provides a no cost eye exam and glasses to children of low income working families, a nationwide program called InfantSEE which provides a no cost vision assessment for children 6 months to 1 year in age and participation at a free clinic in Milwaukee called Walkers Point Community clinic. Finally, the WOA provides advocacy services for members in the areas of government relations and third party payor relations.

THIS GOAL IS ACCOMPLISHED BY CONTINUOUS OUTREACH, ADVOCACY AND EDUCATION FOR THE BENEFIT OF OUR MEMBERS AND THEIR PATIENTS. The Wisconsin Optometric Association sponsors 5 continuing education events each year in different parts of the state in order to provide Wisconsin doctors of optometry the most up to date information in eye care. In recent years there has been an emphasis placed on communications, both internally with members and externally with the public. This includes increased communication with media outlets. The WOA also places an emphasis on benevolent eye care programs for children such as VISION USA which provides a no cost eye exam and glasses to children of low income working families, a nationwide program called InfantSEE which provides a no cost vision assessment for children 6 months to 1 year in age and participation at a free clinic in Milwaukee called Walkers Point Community clinic. Finally, the WOA provides advocacy services for members in the areas of government relations and third party payor relations.
