THE DEPARTMENT ALSO WORKS WITH INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES THAT RECEIVE DIVISION OF REHABILITATION FUNDING FOR COMMUNITY BASED EMPLOYMENT OR VOCATIONAL ASSESSMENT. THE NUMBER OF SERVICE DAYS VARIES ACCORDING TO THE NEEDS OF THE PARTICIPANT FOR THIS SEGMENT OF THE DEPARTMENT. THE DEPARTMENT WORKS WITH "AT RISK" HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES THROUGH THE WORKFORCE INVESTMENT ACT (WIA) DURING THE TIME PERIOD THE STUDENTS ARE PREPARING TO TRANSITION FROM HIGH SCHOOL AND TO HELP THEM FIND EMPLOYMENT OR TO COORDINATE HIGHER EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES FOR THEM. |
