Program Service Expenses 492,178, Grants and allocations 0, Revenue 0 Vibrancy of Place GMC plays crucial roles in the design, creation and support of public spaces that increase civic engagement and connect people across economic and social divides, accelerating success for people, neighborhoods, and the city. In 2016 GMC launched MKE United Strategic Action Agenda. MKE United has developed an Anti-Displacement Fund which raises private resources to assist low income homeowners in payment of property taxes in near Downtown neighborhoods, ensuring that increasing property values will not force long-term neighborhood residents to sell their homes. In addition, MKE United is developing the Milwaukee Appraiser Diversity Initiative MADI, which is a collaborative effort to enhance diversity within the real estate appraisal sector in Milwaukee County. Supported by key industry and community leaders, MADI offers education, mentorship, and professional development to aspiring appraisers from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups. MADI is significant due to its multifaceted approach in addressing barriers within the appraisal industry.

IRS990/Desc0Operational Review In 2023, GMC spearheaded efforts to identify opportunities to save money and improve effeciency in the delivery of services by the City of Milwaukee. With the city facing potentially catastrophic service reductions, the GMC engaged an outside consultant to identify options for savings, consolidation of service and other ways to introduce greater efficiency in city government. These efforts were part of a collaborative effort by the civic and public sectors to increase the level of state funding for local government and to enable the local units of government to generate additional local revenue. The efforts were successful and staved off - at least for the time being - dramatic cuts in public safety and other city services.
