“It is the policy of the organization to provide the irs form 990 to its board members for review and comment prior to the form being filed.”
“A conflict of interest policy is distributed to all board members at a board meeting on an annual basis. Each board member is asked to review the conflict of interest policy and sign the form attesting to whether or not they are aware of and/or have been involved in any conflicts of interests. If there are any conflicts of interest, the board members are required to disclose the nature of the conflict of interest on the form. The board of directors then reviews the responses together at the board meeting and takes any action necessary based on the responses received. This process is documented by the board of directors in the board minutes.”
“The ceo salary was originally set in keeping with comparability data, set by independent persons (the board), and documented through a formal process of meetings, deliberations and decisions. Upon the hiring of the full-time cep in 2005, the board did a salary survey of ceo's in similar nonprofits/ministries, and offered the ceo a typical salary based upon their market research. Since that time, annual salary increases have been equal to or less than cost of living adjustment increases.”
“It is the policy of the organization to provide copies of its governing documents, form 1023, and form 990 to individuals and the public upon request.”
“The purpose of caps it to promote: (1)study of the integration of christianity and the behavioral sciences at both theoretical and applied levels; (2)fellowship among christians in psychological and related disciplines; (3)the spiritual, emotional, and professional well-being of our members; (4)educational and research opportunities that advance the mental health disciplines as avenues of ministry in, and to, the world.”
“The christian association for psychological studies (caps) accomplishes its program: (1)through support of psychological studies and research and enhancing the integration of psychology and christianity. A major means of doing this is through publications. The journal of psychology and christianity is sent to about 1,056 members and readership is greater. (2)through conventions and conferences. Each year an international convention is held and up to five regional conferences are held (this year due to covid-19 the conventions and conferences were held virtually). (3)through assisting pastors and missionaries of any christian denomination to improve their education, training, and experience regarding the integration of psychology and christianity, and also to enhance their pastoral ministries and increase networking; and (4)through assisting students and interns, especially those preparing for psychological and pastoral activities, by helping them get placed, improving their educations and providing awards for research and scholarly papers.”
